Since its opening on Monday, May 9th, the 13th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition, Project Qatar 2016, has continued its strong visitor presence reaching new heights in terms of overall number of visitors. The highlights of the third day of the event, were tours of major construction sites, specialized conferences and workshops.

On the third day of the exhibition, Project Qatar’s international exhibitors visited Lusail City, located on the coast, in the northern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail City, the second of three site tours offered during the exhibition, is planned to have marinas, residential areas, island resorts, commercial districts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, and a golf course community, manmade islands and several entertainment districts. These free site tours provide exhibitors and visitors with the chance to take part of Qatar’s newest development plans.

In addition, Project Qatar workshop series organized by IFP Qatar LCC and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, continued for the third day in a row with professionals and policy makers who benefitted from the chance to explore the latest local construction developments, and acquire specialized knowledge about various industry topics. On the third day of the exhibition, three specialized workshops were organized under the Project Qatar Workshop Series. The first workshop on construction waste was addressed by Dr. Khaled Hassan, Chair of the Solid Waste interest Group (SWiG) and the second on Energy Efficiency, addressed by Mr. Nisar Ahmad, CEO of Solar Sigma Ltd. Pakistan and SSG International Malaysia. A session on HSE Awareness, addressed by Mr. Gary Waters, trainer/ consultant- Leadership & Strategy and Health, Safety & Environment was also organized by Excelledia.

Commenting on his participation at Project Qatar workshop series, Ahmad Shahin, Vice Chairman and CEO at Emirates House Group LLC said: “It is very useful tool to learn that companies and laboratories do exist in this region. The American Society is a very important testing body and it has given good knowledge about the scope of concrete work in general, and it was beneficial. Excellent work!”

In the same context, IFP Qatar, organizer of Project Qatar 2016, also offered participants the opportunity to get the latest insights on the construction industry and explore how utilizing BIM can ensure that major construction and infrastructure projects are delivered to design specifications, within the agreed timelines and on budget, by visiting Future BIM Implementation Qatar 2016.

Along with Project Qatar 2016, IFP Qatar is also organizing two concurrent events which took place over the past three days, and are still taking place today. These two major events include “Qatar Stone Tech 2016,” the 5th International Stone and Stone Technology Show, and “Heavy Max 2016,” the 13th International Exhibition for Heavy Machinery. Given the booming of the construction industry in Qatar, these two conferences represent the ideal platforms for traders and procurement managers to have a close-up look at all the new specialized technologies necessary for the execution of all the major projects.

Due to the large number of international exhibitors and visitors, Project Qatar has once again proved this year its role as the right destination for industry leaders, professionals and decision makers to network and exchange their knowledge in the Qatari market, one of the most vibrant economies worldwide.
