A major mixed-use scheme featuring two 46-storey high towers, designed by global architecture, urbanism and design practice Broadway Malyan for leading Turkish developer Ero?lu Property, has been launched at international property event MIPIM, in Cannes, France.
Following an international design competition in 2011, the practice completed the concept and schematic design for the project, which is located adjacent to the high-profile Turkish Telecom Arena in Seyrantepe, Turkey, and it is due to complete the detailed design in mid-2012, with work already underway on site.
As well as residential and office towers, the 525,000 square metre scheme will feature a five-star hotel and five-level shopping centre topped by a double level open public piazza.
“We have invested $650 million in this world-class project, are pleased to debut the scheme on the international stage for the first time and believe it will become a major new landmark in Istanbul,” said Ero?lu Property chairperson, Nurettin Ero?lu.
The design is inspired by the geography of the site, on the outskirts of Seyrantepe adjacent to the countryside, as well as contextual land forms, with a coherent geometrical form expressing the unity of the whole development while ensuring distinction for each element of the scheme.
“The launch of the scheme is a major milestone in the delivery of this landmark project, which is drawing on the skills, expertise and experience of our world-class, integrated team of design experts, who are working in close partnership with the client to create a new, mixed-use and sustainable environment,” commented BM practice leader, Peter Vaughan, who is leading the design.
