Bauma 2016: World premiere for Iveco Eurocargo 4×4 truck
Medium-duty truck designed for demanding off-road work
The Iveco Eurocargo 4×4 has made its first public appearance at this year’s Bauma show in Germany.
The truck is being showcased alongside a new Daily 4×4 steel 3-lateral tipper and a Trakker 6×6 3-lateral tipper.
Iveco is teaming up with sister brand Case Construction Equipment for the second time at a major trade show. Iveco vehicles and Case equipment are on display at the Case stand at Bauma, the international trade fair dedicated to construction vehicles, equipment and mining machinery.
The new 15t Eurocargo 4×4 is designed for demanding off-road work, and is suited for construction and urban jobsites. It is available with a day or sleeper cab with standard roof.
The Euro 6 truck has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 11.5 or 15 tons and a range of wheelbases measuring from 3,240 to 4,150 mm. It runs a Tector 7 engine in 220 and 250hp variants on the 11.5t version, and 250 and 280hp variants on the 15t version.
The Eurocargo 4×4 also incorporates several protective features for off-road driving such as steel bumpers, retractable access steps and a specific radiator guard. The ZF six-speed manual gearboxes feature a servoshift system for easy gear changing. Permanent four-wheel drive is provided by a longitudinal differential, which distributes torque between the front and rear axles. In addition, three differential locks provide traction even in low-grip conditions.
