Bin Haider Hospitality, a subsidiary of the Dubai-based Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group (MOBH), has rebranded the Sheraton Deira as the Grand Excelsior Hotel, and taken over management of the property from Starwood Hotels.
The Sheraton Deira is the fourth hotel to be internally branded as a Grand Excelsior, the company said in a statement.
The other hotels under the Grand Excelsior brand are located in Bur Dubai, Al Barsha and Sharjah.
Bin Haider plans to increase the brand’s portfolio and expand with more hotel projects across the UAE, Middle East and Europe, it said. The company’s hospitality division consists of three sections: one owns and manages hotels under the Grand Excelsior brand; the second owns hotels with third party management; while the third owns and manages hotel apartments under Deebaj brand.
The rebranded Grand Excelsior hotel is located in the heart of Deira, a few minutes away from the Dubai International Airport, and close to the Gold and Spice Souks, Dubai Creek, shopping malls, historic attractions and business districts.
The hotel has 229 guest rooms including 35 suites, as well as a conference and meeting hall, a health club and a swimming pool.
The executive management team will stay in place, under a new general manager Safwan El Khayat, who has 30 years of hospitality experience, Bin Haider said.
