Contact will see construction firm provide operation and maintenance for three years across Oman

Galfar Engineering and Contracting, the Omani construction company, has announced that it has been awarded an operations and maintenance contract from the Public Authority for Electricity and Water in different governorates.

The total amount of the awarded tenders was $8.2m, the Public Authority said, adding that the final date of submission was April 8, 2012. The final decision was made on May 7, 2012, the Times of Oman reported.

The duration of the contract will see Galfar undertake operation and maintenance for three years on each job.

Earlier this year, Galfar was awarded a contract worth $11.8m from the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Water for the construction of the Dhank/Al Khabib Road in Al Dhahirah Region.

The completion period for that project is 550 days, with a further 60 days added on for mobilisation.
