Germany’s MAN bags order to supply 500 trucks in Austria
Manufacturer to supply 500 TGX trucks to Quehenberger Logistics
Germany’s MAN Truck & Bus has bagged a large order from Austria, which will see it supply 500 TGX trucks to Salzburg-based Quehenberger Logistics.
Quehenberger Logistics, which employs over 2,600 people, is specialised in transport management and network and contract logistics. The trucks to be supplied to the company will be in three versions, MAN said: tractor units with a combination of leaf springs and air suspension; tractor units with full air suspension; and three-axle vehicles with container swap body. The units will be delivered in 2016 and 2017.
All the vehicles are equipped to run on biodiesel, MAN said in a statement. Many components of the EfficientLine models have been adopted to minimise fuel consumption, such as the Aero package with spoilers to improve aerodynamics. Quehenberger also required the vehicles to be equipped with cruise control with automatic distance control (ACC), lane assist and brake assist for all vehicles.
The trucks will be run on an operating lease scheme which encompasses a maintenance contract and a return agreement. The duration of use is 36 months with 150,000 km a year.
