Khalifa Port gears up for growth

As the automotive sector in the GCC continues to see growth in both the passenger and commercial vehicles segments, there’s no doubt that this creates an opportunity for logistics and supply chain services to support the industry. Ports, in particular, play a crucial role in contributing to this growth, facilitating the movement of automotive cargo from ship to showroom.

This month, we examine how Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port aims to become a hub for roll-on/roll-off (RORO) cargo and is working with automobile importers and dealers based in the capital and across the Emirates. Gary Lemke, executive vice president – Ports at Abu Dhabi Ports, explains the company’s vision for supporting the automotive industry and contributing to the UAE capital’s diversification.

On that note, allow me to introduce myself as the new deputy editor of Truck & Fleet ME. Stian Overdahl, the former acting editor, certainly leaves some big shoes to fill, but I’m confident that with the support of this magazine’s readership and the wider industry, Truck & Fleet ME will continue to deliver quality content on issues that matter.

I’m always eager to receive feedback and hear from you regarding topics you’d like to see covered in the magazine, so feel free to drop me a mail anytime. Happy reading!
