Macro wins facilities management contract for DECC in Qatar
Contract covers area of 47,000 square metres at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre
Macro has secured a contract with Venue Pro Management to provide facilities management to the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) in Qatar.
The three year contract involves managed services and computer aided facilities management (CAFM), the London-headquartered facilities management consultancy, a subsidiary of Mace, said in a statement.
The work will cover a total gross area of 47,000 square metres, including five exhibition halls of approximately 29,000 square metres with 18 metre tall ceilings.
The Doha exhibition centre also contains a main concourse area, cafes, public restrooms, prayer rooms, a loading zone, storage, circulation space and a car park in the basement.
The services that Macro will provide in partnership with Debbas Enterprise are set to include operation and maintenance, specialist maintenance, helpdesk and CAFM, facade cleaning, landscaping, parking operational management and pest control.
“We are honored to be working with DECC on such an iconic building in Doha and are looking forward to building a long lasting relationship with both DECC and Debbas Enterprise,” said Barry Clarke, general manager at Macro in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The venue will be overseen by the Qatar Tourism Authority and managed by a joint venture between Fira Barcelona International and the ELAN Group.
