Dubai construction shows ‘to offer free training worth $250k’

Two upcoming construction events in Dubai will offer over $250,000 worth of training workshops to the industry, according to exhibition organisers.

There will be 75 free CPD-certified workshops on offer at the upcoming Middle East Concrete 2015 and PMV Live 2015, which are being held this month alongside The Big 5, the largest construction event in the GCC.

Around 3,800 delegates are expect to attend the workshops, which have a direct value to the construction industry of “over $250,000”, organisers said.

“Visitors to the events will have access to 75 free CPD-certified workshops led by industry experts in their respective fields,” said Nathan Waugh, Event Director for Middle East Concrete and PMV Live.

The number assumes a “conservative” average cost of $70 per person per workshop, and that all sessions are full over the four days they are billed to run. The workshops are free and attendees receive certification, the organiser said.

“The trend towards plant and machinery automation means there is a constant need for training in order to maintain pace with technologies and increase resource efficiency,” said Waugh.

“The UAE construction industry is one of the most significant contributors to GDP, and we are excited to see how the free education sessions on offer continue to add value to those responsible for the built environment,” he added.

“As a result, we have added more workshops to this year’s event in order to increase the value of the events to visitors and the industry as a whole.”

PMV Live – which is billed as “the most important plant, machinery and vehicles show in the Middle East” – and Middle East Concrete take place alongside The Big 5, from November 23-26 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
