Almost half the units in the retail zone of Dubai’s massive under-construction theme-park project have been leased, it has been announced.
Dubai Parks & Resorts, which is building three theme parks and a water attraction in the emirate, announced the names of the retailers and food outlets that have booked space in the Riverland Dubai area, which will be based along 1km of waterfront.
Nearly 50% of the available units have been leased out, some to new brands to Dubai including America’s Famous Dave’s barbeque, Mr Greek and South Africa’s Galito’s Flame Grilled Chicken.
Other food and beverage options will include Shake Shack, the Irish Village, Big Chefs, Milas, Jamba Juice and Starbucks. Retail brands confirmed include Havaianas and Sun Eye Optics.
“We started the leasing process of the 50-plus outlets available in May and in less than four months almost 50% of the units have been leased by great brands that we know our guests will really love,” said Klaus Assmann, vice president of retail and hospitality at Dubai Parks & Resorts.
Riverland, which will cover an area of 220,000 square metres, will be the entry point to Dubai Parks & Resorts and also function as a destination in itself.
