Urban community is targeted at young professionals, first-time buyers and students
ARADA has launched the East Village within the framework of its Aljada megaproject. The developer says the buildings in the community will be characterised by ‘bold, fresh and colorful designs’ and notes that each structure will be tailored made to foster a sense of community among tenants, homeowners and visitors.
According to a statement from the developer, the creative residential community is targeted at students, singles and young couples, as well as those entering the job market for the first time. It will feature 15 buildings, each of which is to house 150 units split between studio and one-bedroom units.
“It is our hope that East Village will be a haven for young people taking their first steps into adult life. They are our greatest asset, and we believe that this new community will provide the next generation with a space that will allow their creativity to flourish. At the same time, we are also pleased to announce that work on the Aljada masterplan has now begun on schedule. This is in line with ARADA’s promise to our buyers to deliver their homes on time and to an exceptional level of quality,” said HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.
The developer says residents at the East Village will benefit from large green spaces that will play host to regular events, art installations and pop-up retail outlets. The community is to be built using responsible building practices and each building is designed to have communal areas, with additional space set aside for local facilities, including small shops and cafes.
HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal added, “Young people around the world, and increasingly across the GCC, are now playing an individual role in responsible living and environmentally conscious spending. We’re doing our part by working to position Aljada as a sustainability benchmark in the Middle East, with best-practice techniques and new technologies implemented right the way through the city. We’ll also be focusing on sustainability at East Village, a community dedicated to a generation that demands an exceptional quality of life that at the same time respects the environment.”
The East Village will take shape close to Aljada’s Business Park, a commercial hub featuring 500,000sqm of office space and Sharjah’s University City. The community will officially be launched at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, which runs between 17-19 April at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Homes in the community are scheduled for handover by the end of 2020.
ARADA also announced that enabling work on Aljada is now under way, following a groundbreaking ceremony attended by HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of ARADA, and HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal AlSaud, vice chairman of ARADA. The first phase of Aljada is on schedule to be handed over to homeowners by the end of 2019.
