Developer says more homes will arrive at Marasi Business Bay over the coming days
Dubai Properties has celebrated the voyage of the UAE’s first floating home as it made its way along the Dubai Water Canal to berth at Marasi Business Bay.
The Dubai-based real estate master developer said that city will see more homes float into the Marasi development over the coming days, as it works to transform the commercial hub of Business Bay into an “urban lifestyle destination.”
Once complete, Marasi Business Bay will not only feature water homes that come with pools and are surrounded by floating restaurants, but will also include segments such as the Park, the Pier and the Marina, which will eventually comprise 800 berths. It will stretch along the Dubai Water Canal, making it the first purpose-built yachting hub at the heart of a city in the region.
In a statement, the developer said that the water homes are a considerable turnkey project for Dubai Properties as it looked to introduce a real estate offering that combined centuries of ship building heritage with cutting-edge design for waterfront living in the emirate.
The project was first revealed by Dubai Properties Group, a member of Dubai Holding, at Cityscape Global 2016. The $272 million project is on track to become the city’s most sought-after waterfront destination, the developer added, pointing out that it had elevated the larger Business Bay district to such an extent that it was ranked amongst the must-see neighbourhoods in the world by the Lonely Planet.
