Under the prestigious patronage of the Qatari government and the support of HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, IFP Qatar is honored to launch once again this year Project Qatar 2016, the 13th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition.

The Qatari Government, a principal and influential patron in the success and continuity of Project Qatar, has always proven on being keen about reinforcing and supporting the economy by lifting and backing the efforts of the private sector. Supporting Project Qatar since 2004 has not only made this show the biggest construction fair in Qatar, but also the only international fair that managed to gain the support of tens of national export and trade departments from five continents.

Aiming at ensuring the most favorable exhibition experience and accommodating the exponentially growing needs of the exhibition for both visitors and exhibitors, Project Qatar, the 13th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition, which will be organised from the 9th to 12th of May, has decided to move its venue this year to the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre (DECC), one of the largest and most important regional and international exhibition location in the Gulf region, with a pillar-free venue, a modular wall system, high-tech meeting and conference rooms, an exquisite VIP hosting suite and an underground parking for 3,000 cars.

Moving to the DECC represents a real landmark for this year’s edition and such a decision was not a matter of coincidence. Located in the lively West Bay area, the epicenter of Qatar’s business district, the capital of the country, the new venue will definitely guarantee more visitors, better amenities, and less road traffic. In addition, the DECC is situated just a few minutes away from the popular Corniche waterfront, the cultural village of Katara, and many of Qatar’s finest hotels and luxury tourist attractions.

In its 13th edition, Project Qatar now bears the industry-wide stamp of approval for trade-show authenticity and effectiveness; the exhibition is now a UFI approved event. UFI approval is regarded as a solid indicator of a show’s popularity, service quality and level of internationalism. Project Qatar is the first construction industry exhibition in the country to be associated with UFI. The organisers had assigned KPMG, one of the international Big Four auditing firms, to audit and certify the key exhibition figures for Project Qatar.

“We initiated the process of bringing total transparency in our operations with the independent audit. The ‘UFI approved’ label will provide an assurance to Project Qatar exhibitors and visitors who will benefit from a professionally planned and managed event,” says IFP Qatar’s General Manager George Ayache. “With this recognition, Project Qatar team is more enthusiastic about the preparation for the 2016 edition of Project Qatar, scheduled for the 9th to 12th of May, 2016.”

The 13th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition will be held concurrently with Qatar Stone Tech 2015, The 5th International Stone and Stone Technology Show, Heavy Max 2016, The 13th International Exhibition for Heavy Machinery, in addition to three new events, Qatar Smart Technologies 2016, the 1st international innovative smart construction solutions show, Qatar Sports Infrastructure 2016, the 1st international exhibition for Sports Infrastructure, and Qatar Transport & logistics, the 1st international Transport & Logistics exhibition. In collaboration with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Project Qatar will also organise specialised construction related workshops, offering attendees a comprehensive education program with classes emphasising industry issues and trends, management and applied technology, among others.

Project Qatar 2015, the 12th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition, has succeeded to attract 32,167 professional visitors (footfall) who networked with 1130 exhibitors from 40 countries, occupying 41,500 sqm of exhibition space.
